First part of the morning spent at my desk following up on casework and correspondence. Back on to the motorbike at 1100 and off to Dorchester for a regular catch-up with the Leader, Cllr Spencer Flower. I'd forgotten it was a Bank Holiday weekend and the traffic was already appalling. Thank goodness I have a motorbike. I dread to think how many hours it has saved me; money, too. My chats with Spencer are on the whole confidential, but I did raise the subject of Boot Hill as I'd promised my constituents Peter and Mary Weeks I'd do. He was most attentive and promised to look at the matter. Running late, I headed down the hill to Weymouth to see Liz Myles, the College Principal, and her board chairman John Brewster, a charming and most able man. Again, the content of the meeting is confidential, but we chatted for some time about several issues. Wishing them both a successful start to the new academic year, I hopped back on to my motorbike and off to Wareham to visit my bank. Home, office and then supper with my parents.
